Jibhi is a quiet wooden-cottage village in the Banjar (Tirthan) region of Himachal, increasingly loved by young travellers for its forested calm, waterfalls and aesthetic cafe-stays. Less developed than Manali or Kasol, it has a cosy, Instagram-favourite slow-travel base in the Kullu hills. Set among deodar forests and apple orchards, Jibhi pairs gentle hikes — to Jibhi Falls, the Serolsar Lake and the Jalori Pass — with riverside cottages and a laid-back cafe scene. Its scenic, unhurried character makes it a top pick for workations, couples and friend groups.

When to go

March to June and September to November are ideal. Winters bring snow and a cosy vibe; monsoon is lush but slip-prone.

Why visit

Jibhi is a scatter of wooden houses in the Banjar valley with a waterfall behind it. The Jalori pass above is the reason to stay — Serolsar lake is an easy walk from the top, and Chehni Kothi, a tall timber-and-stone tower, is close by and barely visited.

Cultural notes

Jibhi lies in the Banjar valley of Kullu, known for traditional wooden Himachali temples and architecture and a community-led eco-tourism culture.

How to reach

Nearest airport: Bhuntar (~60 km). Turn off the Mandi-Manali highway near the Aut tunnel toward Banjar and Jibhi. Buses and cabs run from Aut and Banjar.
