Vantawng Falls, on the Vanva river about 5 km south of Thenzawl in Serchhip district, is Mizoram's highest waterfall at roughly 229 metres. Because dense forested hillsides make close approach difficult, the state Tourism Department has built a viewing tower overlooking the multi-tiered cascade.
When to go
September to January is recommended for clear visibility and lush green surroundings after the monsoon; winters at this elevation are cool.

By Road: Vantawng Falls is about 5 km south of Thenzawl and roughly 90-98 km from Aizawl, via Serchhip town, which lies about 30 km away. By Air and Train: Lengpui Airport, about 32 km from Aizawl, is the nearest airport; Sairang Railway Station, about 15 km from Aizawl, opened in September 2025 as Mizoram's first direct rail link, connecting to Guwahati, Kolkata and Delhi.
