Yadadri's hilltop cave shrine of Lakshmi Narasimha — the fierce man-lion form of Vishnu — has been transformed into Telangana's grandest temple: the hill re-clad entirely in carved black granite by hundreds of sthapathis in a decade-long rebuild, its vimana gilded with quintals of gold. Inside, the self-manifested Narasimha images sit in a low rock cleft where devotees have prayed for centuries, many coming for the deity's famed healing grace.
